Weller leads the Mercury Prize nominations
Veteran rocker Paul Weller heads up the nominations for this year’s Mercury Music Prize.
Paul Weller has been nominated for the Barclaycard Mercury Prize. Wake Up The Nation's marks the second time Weller has been nominated for the award, 16 years after he was nominated for the album Wild Wood.
Dizzee Rascal, who has won in the past, The Xx, Laura Marling Mumford and Sons, and Wild Beasts are also nominated.
Other nominees include Corinne Bailey Rae, Biffy Clyro, I Am Koot, Villagers, Kit Downes Trio and Foals.
The winner, who wins a prize of £20,000, will be announced on the 7 September.
