The Rebound
Catherine Zeta-Jones plays single mother Sandy, who, after catching her husband cheating at her son’s birthday party, moves to New York City and befriends her next-door neighbour, who’s dealing with his own relationship issues. Naturally, the pair start dating, but soon the question pops up; Is it a real relationship or are they both, in fact, just on the rebound?

Splice
Adrian Brody and Sarah Polley star in this timely sci-fi about two scientists who ‘splice’ together human and animal DNA to create a new organism called Dren (Nerd backwards), regardless of the legal and ethical boundaries. The organism mutates from a female infant into a beautiful winged human-chimera and forms a bond with both of her creators, until that bond turns deadly. Spooky, but hopefully not telling, stuff.

DVD:
Clash of the Titans
Avatar’s Sam Worthington takes the next Hollywood step in this action-packed blockbuster remake of the 1981 classic Clash Of The Titans alongside Liam Neeson.  Demigod Perseus (Worthington) doesn’t realise that Zeus (Neeson) is his father, and heads off on an expedition to slay Medusa to ensure that Zeus’ evil brother Hades (Ralph Fiennes) doesn’t rain down misery on a seaport. Meeting witches, monsters, and mythical creatures galore along the way ensures that Perseus’ trip is the adventure of a lifetime.

Remember Me:
After a family tragedy, Tyler (Robert Pattinson) finds his relationship with his father increasingly strained. The New Yorker falls in love with the girl he thinks finally understands him when he meets Ally (Emilie de Ravin), and the couple begin learning things about themselves through their relationship.

Music:
Tom Jones – Praise and Blame
As he reaches his 70th birthday, he releases his 42ND studio album. Which is no mean feat. The world’s most famous Welshman has sold over one hundred million records worldwide since he hit the music scene in 1965. The album includes a rendition of John Lee Hooker’s Burning Hell as well as a heart-wrenching, gravely version of Bob Dylan’s classic What Good Am I?

TV:
Californication
David Duchovny returns in his racy US drama. If you’ve not caught the first two seasons of Californication, you’ll want to get involved. Duchovny plays Hank, an author who moves to California and finds he can no longer write. Hank blames his writer’s block on a number of things including his inability to say no to available drugs, sex and alcohol, while trying to maintain a relationship with his ex-girlfriend and raise his daughter in his less-than normal world.
